CAFÉ SUPERVISOR

Start Date: Immediate / Salary:  $17/hr

FOR A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS, CONTINUOUS and FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT (at least 30 hours per week)

Position Overview

It is the responsibility of the Café Supervisor to provide coaching and guidance to the café team members in order to provide service to guests both efficiently and effectively and in a genuinely caring manner. 

 

The Café Supervisor organizes the staff into their working positions and delegates duties as required.  You will wear a multitude of hats…. greeter, order taker, barista, food preparer, baker & server as well as oversee the team and direct all team members throughout the day.

 

The Café Supervisor will execute a daily plan that ensures all duties and tasks required on that day will be done in a timely and effective fashion.

 

You have strong customer service skills & work ethic and thrive on being busy and constantly thinking outside the box.  You have a good understanding of liquor laws and food safety as well as company policies and procedures and are able to maintain support from your team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and control operations of the restaurant • Delegate and ensure the opening/daytime and closing duties have been completed efficiently in all areas including the Till, coffee, smoothies, baking and sandwich prep station areas.  It is your responsibility to make sure all of these duties are completed and you are accountable for any shortfalls. • Monitor inventory and make sure all items are stocked and at par levels.  If items are running low, it is your responsibility to communicate this to the owners. You will ensure the proper rotation of food products so all items are at their freshest. • Resolve guest complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed • Weekly meetings with owners to review the previous week, celebrate successes and create a plan to work on areas that need improvement.  • Oversee staff training • In compliance with social media guidelines, create posts for various social media outlets on a daily basis • Leadership among staff through your actions and attitude.

 

Requirements

-  Serving It Right Certificate - Food Safe Level 1 Certificate - Minimum industry experience of 2 years - Ability to multi-task - Excellent communication skills - Excels in a fast paced environment - Ability to empower a diverse team and create an authentic and positive work environment - Intimate knowledge of North American resort culture and hospitality/tourism industry - Accommodation in Sun Peaks or a reliable means of transportation
